From Quito

We arrived safely early Saturday morning and got into bed a little after 1:00. Today (Sunday) part of the team will be at Mama Yoli's setting up the pharmacy so we can get to work early tomorrow morning.

This afternoon we will meet for church with the congregation here. The Holy Spirit will serve as translator, and we will all worship together. There is only one God and one body, and we all belong to Him.

In our devotion last night, team leader Jim Harris spoke on the theme of "It's not up to you." He read this quote: God never promises the absence of difficulty, but he does promise the presence of his Holy Spirit.

Jim reminded us that although the Spirit does move in mighty and phenomenal ways, the Spirit also works in quiet ways. Sometimes when we're looking for the might and power, we miss the subtle orchestrations of God.

We're counting on the support of your prayers for our safety, but mostly pray for us to be used as instruments of God however and whenever He chooses.

I'll post more photos on the blog at http://www.gfumcmission.blogspot.com/

Dios los bendiga! (God bless you!)
