I have to explain a bit about the little girl in the picture. We saw her downtown. She looked to be no more than 4 or 5 years old. The baby on her back appeared to be at least a year old.
The girl was begging. I gave her some money and asked where her mother was. She pointed down the street. She then crossed the busy street to resume begging.
That kind of thing will break your heart, but those children -- the poorest -- are why we are here.
The other picture was taken during the worship service at Mama Yoli's Sunday afternoon. The children of the church sang like angels and blessed us greatly.
